As you all know by now, our newest Update 5.4 is ‘up for grabs’, free for our 5.0, 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 registered users. Following are instructions on how to download; there are two ways in which to do this, please select the one that is best for you:
Method 1:
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please be sure to have all Word Magic and Office programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook) closed to install the updates properly!
Inside the program, go to Help, in the upper toolbar, and select Check for Updates. You will see the Word Magic Updater window appear. Click on Next and close all remaining Word Magic programs when prompted by this wizard. Follow on-screen instructions until the wizard finishes updating your programs. You may have to reboot your computer after running this wizard; it will indicate this at the end, if necessary.
TROUBLESHOOTING: If you get a "Login Incorrect" error trying to update, please download the wmupdater.exe file again from this link and replace the old file under C:\Program Files\Word Magic Software\[Version Number]\Programs. Then you can check for updates again. Sometimes the server may be too overloaded, and you may get a message saying: “Error Downloading File.” If this happens, go to Method 2.
Method 2:
Go to Control Panel, in your computer’s Start menu, and select Add/Remove Programs. When the list of available programs displays, select Word Magic Products and click on Remove. It is recommended that you remove the Word Magic Software folder before installing this new version. The folder is usually under c:\Program Files.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If the system asks you if you want to inactivate the program, tell it to SKIP THIS STEP.
If you follow these simple instructions, you should not have any trouble downloading our newest update; nevertheless, you can contact us at support@wordmagicsoft.com.
Verify exactly which program(s) you have, go to our download page and download your program(s) directly from our site. Once downloaded, run the file to install. You might be prompted for your activation code; use the original code sent to you by email.
